Here’s a once-in-a-generation event, brought to you LIVE by The Center for Educational Media at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. With MTSU’s unique location — directly in the path of the great solar eclipse — plus a wealth of scientific knowledge and commentary readily available, Great Tennessee Eclipse LIVE is a free, unique programming opportunity for your station.

MTSU is planning to enhance the eclipse viewing with:

  • — Experts, Videos and Slides provided by the MTSU Astronomy Dept.
  • — Live feed from NASA
  • — Live feed from MTSU’s observatory telescope

TelVue clients will be able to re-broadcast the MTSU live eclipse programming by mapping this RTMP url directly into your HyperCaster: rtmp://

Consult the Knowledgebase for step-by-step instructions on setting up an RTMP stream in your HyperCaster. There is also a more detailed explanation here of the mechanics of RTMP streaming.

You can then notify your local media and local science programs to tune in.

The MTSU: Great Tennessee Eclipse LIVE program will air from 12:30 PM CDT (11:30 AM EDT) on Monday, August 21, 2017.

The program will include three 10-minute segments:

  • Segment 1 – Ron Henderson (Eclipse Geometry)
  • Segment 2 – Chuck Higgins (Eclipse Path & Safety)
  • Segment 3 – John Wallin (Info on what you’ll see)
