YouTube Export from Connect
With the YouTube Export option, users have the option to export videos directly to any linked YouTube channel from Connect, streamlining distribution across broadcast and OTT, and digital platforms.
Requirements
Before using the YouTube Export feature:
- Your Connect organization must have Social Media Export enabled on the Features page. Contact TelVue Sales for pricing.
- You must have a valid Google/YouTube account that will be linked to the organization’s Connect account.
When using the YouTube Export feature, your organization is solely responsible for ensuring all uploaded content complies with YouTube’s Community Guidelines, Copyright Policies, and Terms of Service.
Do not upload content that:
- Contains unlicensed or copyrighted video or audio, including TV shows, music, or third-party footage.
- Features parody, satire, or transformative content that may trigger YouTube’s automated Content ID claims or manual takedowns.
- Infringes on third-party intellectual property or violates fair use boundaries as interpreted by YouTube.
- Includes sensitive, controversial, or policy-violating material, regardless of intent.
YouTube’s enforcement can be automated and aggressive, including removal, monetization restrictions, or account penalties, regardless of context or intent. TelVue recommends reviewing your content prior to publishing and consulting with legal counsel if uncertain about any media rights.
Configuration
Once Social Media Export is enabled, the Administration page will show a new YouTube Export menu. From the YouTube Export menu, users can add one or more YouTube accounts to the organization.
- Click Add Account
- When prompted, check Select All to provide the required level of access to the YouTube account on TelVue Connect.
- Click Continue to complete linking the YouTube account with the Connect organization .

Once a YouTube account has been added to the YouTube Export page, default settings can be configured, allowing the organization to define many metadata presets:
- Category: Choose from YouTube’s standard list of Categories.

- Privacy Status: Choose from Public, Private, and Unlisted.
- Description Source: Select between Connect Description and Connect Short Summary to choose which Connect media metadata should be used for YouTube description.
- Upload captions: Use the slider to turn on to upload captions for videos if captions are available. If captions are not present when the automation is triggered, caption upload will skip because no captions are present.
- Hold video upload pending captions: Use the slider to turn on to delay video uploads until captions are available.
- Made for kids: Use the slider to turn on if the videos are made for children. Features such as personalized ads and notifications won’t be available on videos made for kids. Videos that are set as made for kids are more likely to be recommended alongside other kids’ videos.
- Use Connect thumbnail: Use the slider to turn on to use Connect thumbnail instead of YouTube generated thumbnail.
- Allow embedding: Use the slider to turn on if the YouTube video upload will be embeddable on other web pages.
- Public Stats: Use the slider to turn on to show how many viewers like this video on YouTube.
- Contains altered content: Use the slider to turn on if any of the following describe the content:
- Makes a real person appear to say or do something they didn’t say or do.
- Alters footage of a real event or place.
- Generates a realistic-looking scene that didn’t actually occur.
- Language: Select the primary language for the video from the list of options.
- License: Choose from Standard YouTube License or Creative Commons – Attribution. The Standard YouTube License grants YouTube the rights to distribute and display the video, while also allowing users to stream the video through YouTube’s features like embedding. Creative Commons – Attribution allows others to copy, distribute, and remix the video, even commercially, as long as credit is provided.
- Tags: Type any tags to add descriptive keywords and phrases to the video to help viewers find it. Tags are not visible to viewers but assist the YouTube algorithm in categorizing and recommending videos based on relevance.
- Notify Subscribers: The YouTube Export option now lets you designate whether to notify subscribers of newly published videos, whether exporting manually or through Automations.
TIP: Use YouTube alongside CloudCast and Mobile & OTT apps for maximum reach.
