Networking
Navigate to the Networking page by selecting the Networking menu option. Networking includes Hostname, Domain Name System (DNS) server, and ethernet Network Interface Card (NIC) settings.
Networking – Hostname Section
Click the edit icon to edit the Hostname.
Enter the IP address of the Domain Name Service (DNS) server so the TelVue TeleCast 2 server can resolve Internet domain names. Multiple DNS servers can be configured. Click Save to save your changes.
Networking – DNS Section
Click the delete icon to delete an existing DNS server. Click the add icon
to add a DNS server.
Enter the IP address of the Domain Name Service (DNS) server so the TelVue TeleCast 2 server can resolve Internet domain names. Multiple DNS servers can be configured. Click Save to save your changes.
Networking – Interfaces Section
Out of the box, the TelVue TeleCast 2 encoder network interfaces are set for DHCP IP Address assignment. You can edit the network interfaces to switch between DHCP and Static assignment, and for Static, to enter the settings.
Click the edit icon to edit the network settings for the specific NIC, either eth0 or eth1 corresponding to the two NICs on the TelVue TeleCast 2 encoder.
The available fields to edit are as follows:
- Mode: Choose either DHCP or Static for how the network interface will be configured. If you select DHCP, the remaining fields will be automatically configured via the DHCP server and will not be editable.
- IP Address: Enter the static IP address for this network interface.
- Subnet Mask: Enter the Subnet Mask for this network interface.
- Gateway: Enter the Default Gateway for this network interface (available for eth0 only, the primary network interface).
Click Save to save your changes.
