The Add Record Event feature is used to set up recordings. It is available only at installations with either:
- the (optional) IP Capture feature, or
- a HyperCaster AIO with encoding
1. On the Programming page, click the Add Record Event button. The Schedule Recording page is displayed.
2. Fill in the fields on the screen as described below.
Feed & Recording
The Feed & Recording section is displayed only in systems with the IP Capture feature or HyperCaster AIOs with encoding.
- Channel – select the channel to be recorded
- Pick from an available Encode channel for file encoding
- Pick from an available Capture channel for IP feeds
- Feed – Select a feed or input source from the drop-down list.
- You can configure your feeds on Configuration –> Feeds –> Live Streams
- You can configure your inputs on Configuration –> IO Ports –> Inputs
- Filename – Enter a name for the recorded file.
- Autoname – To name the recorded file automatically with the feed name and date and time of recording, check this box. Such a filename might look something like this: Encode_1_input_1_20170328-153321.mpg
- Unattached Content – If you have already a TBD content placeholder for this content, select the TBD from the drop-down list. The default is the TBD with expected ingest closest to the current date and time. This allows you to use TBDs to schedule a future recording in advance and so it shows in the program guide, and then easily attach it to the scheduled recording.
Date & Time
- Start – Use a Calendar icon to select a date for the recording to begin up to one year from now.
- Time – Enter a start time for the recording in HH:MM:SS format using 24-hour time. For example, 1:00 PM is 13:00:00.
- Duration – Set the total time for the recording in hours, minutes, and seconds (HH:MM:SS). The maximum recording time is 23:59:59. If your installation anticipates a longer recording, contact TelVue Support.
- Record Immediately – To start the recording as soon as the Save button is clicked, check this box.
Auto Delete

Optional Recurrence
- Day of Week – Check one or more boxes to the left of the day of the week to repeat the recording on that day. To record video every day, click Daily, which will check all the boxes. To uncheck all the boxes, click None. There is a one-year limit on scheduling recordings.
- Until Date – Use a Calendar icon to select the last day for the recording to recur up to one year from today. If you plan to record video on several days of the week, the recording will occur up to and including the date you select.
