Gracenote Integration

HyperCaster 9.1 and later support automated Gracenote EPG retrieval. Earlier versions, or workflows that use file delivery, can export an X-List CSV file for a Gracenote representative. Use the workflow that matches your HyperCaster version and Gracenote setup.

Gracenote Format Details

The Gracenote format includes the following key fields:

• Station ID: The identifier assigned to your channel by Gracenote or your internal system.
• Program Name: The title of the show or event.
• Program Start Date: The date of the start of the show or event.
• Program Start Time: The time of the start of the show or event.
• Episode Name: The specific episode title (if applicable).
• Duration: Total runtime in HH:MM:SS format.

Prepare the Schedule Data

Metadata Accuracy

Verify all metadata fields (e.g., titles, descriptions, episode numbers) are populated in the HyperCaster to avoid errors in the program guide export.

Channel Setup

1. 1. Log in to the HyperCaster user interface.
   2. Navigate to Config > Channels > Channels and select the channel to edit.
   3. Enable Website Guide Details in the Guide Information tab.
   4. Assign your TV Guide Station ID.
   5. If the guide must cover unscheduled periods, configure continuity and use gap-filling metadata.
   6. After saving, go to Config > Integrations > Gracenote.
   7. Select the appropriate Channel from the dropdown and enter the unique identifier for that channel’s Station ID.
   8. Save the integration

Creating and Exporting Program Guides

1. Customize Program Guide Settings:
   1. Navigate to Reports > Program Guide.
   2. Channel/Output Selection: Choose the desired output channel.
   3. Date Range: Define the start and end dates for the schedule.
   4. Format: Select Gracenote from the dropdown menu.
2. Generate the Program Guide:
   1. Click Display to preview the guide.
   2. Check metadata for accuracy.
   3. Click Download to save the guide in Gracenote format.

Export an X-List File (pre 9.1)

1. Go to Reports > Program Guide.
2. Select the channel and a start and end date. The report can cover up to 11 days.
3. Select X-List as the format.
4. Click Display and verify the program information and scheduled gaps.
5. Click Download to save the X-List CSV file.
6. Send the file using the transfer method approved by Gracenote.
